Front Noise

Front Noise is a two-day music festival in northern Sweden. The festival involves music from many different genres and artist, big and small.

Running

Running is a single by a Swedish singer-songwriter Jens Thörnevall.
It is a story about being lost in time; The moment between being alseep and awake, when it is hard to separate what's real. Despite it's dark theme Running is a story of every day life, finding hope where it  feels like the sky is falling.

Artist Mirja Palo

Mirja Palo is a singer and musician from Norrbotten, Sweden. Her music is a combination of tradition and new, created with the Finnish folk instrument Kantele, her voice and an electric pedal.

Mirja Palo's music is organic and driven by the love for nature, specifically the extraordinary surroundings of northern Sweden. These values were the most important things to portray in the logo design.

The symbol got its curvy, soft shape from the snowy mountains of Jokkmokk.

THE LIGHT AND THE DARK

The logotype is clean and subtle in its form. Connection to the nature can be found in the details: a dot in the middle of a circle is a symbol for the Sun in many cultures.

 

In northern parts of Sweden the sun plays a special role as in the middle of summer it doesn't set and in the middle of winter it doesn't rise. This unique and drastic change of light creates a foundation for the plain colour palette with only black and white.

Kompetenslaget

Kompetenslaget is Swedish company that provides consultation and courses on education, human resources and recruiting.

Mission: Visual identity redesign

Since its beginning Kompetenslaget has had a flower symbol in its logo to represent the different areas of expertise.

I wanted to strengthen and widen the symbol's role in the visual identity and lifted it and the blue color to be the main elements. The logo kept its original design, but instead of green it is now dressed in blue – the company's new brand color.

COLORS

I updated Kompetenslaget's color palette and changed the primary colour from green to dark blue. Blue is often associated with professionalism and trustability which makes it a suitable symbol for education and consultation.

Kompetenslaget provides four different areas of expertise. I categorised the areas by defining own main color for each of them.

Blue: General

Light blue: Education

Yellow: Recruiting

Green: HR support
